Editorial

Welcome to this  first issue for 2009. The first article in this issue is a peer reviewed (Section A) article by Christian Aebi and Grant Cairns. The article starts with an interesting extension of a problem that was published in Parabola almost thirty years ago and then continues with some very nice further explorations on partitioning sets of prime numbers. The article contains some interesting propositions and proofs but it is also illuminating for the way that it introduces new lines of inquiry and mathematical discovery. How do you go about discovering new mathematical results? The second article in this issue, by David Angell, provides one answer to this question, through a case study on the convergence of continued fractions.
